With comfortable seating and a cool, minimalist interior by architect and designer Keiji Ashizawa, the cafe is an ideal place for a break while exploring the neighborhood. Enjoy a variety of espresso and pour-over coffee drinks, along with a selection of sweets and snacks. A large original artwork in the cafe, Yoshio Shirakawa's 'Dragon God of Mount Akagi,' is a humorous tribute to the city of Maebashi. The SHIROIYA HOTEL has several important works by Yoshio Shirakawa, who lives and works in Gunma. You can also enjoy your take-out coffee on the hotel terrace.

Interior Design
Keiji Ashizawa Design

The comfortable, light-filled space was designed by Keiji Ashizawa Design office to be an inviting place to spend some time. The pour-over coffee station is positioned to communicate the essence of Blue Bottle Coffee, even from the outside. The brick flooring echoes those used in historical buildings in Maebashi and in the SHIROIYA HOTEL, creating a sense of unity with the surroundings. Keiji Ashizawa Design created the long, round sofa in the center of the space, to bring people together. The space also features a new Maebashi-themed artwork by locally-based artist Yoshio Shirakawa, whose work is also on display in the hotel.
